Holiday Boutique

Holiday Boutique is fast approaching and I really need the help of our excellent RRs. This isn't about fundraising, it's about providing a service for our amazing Stevenson kids.

Here's how you can help!
  • Work commitments allowing, I'd really appreciate it if you could all commit to working at least one hour during the Boutique. It's a fun way to volunteer as duties include helping the smaller kids pick out gifts and Christmas wrapping.
  • Could you please contact your parents and ask if any of them can also lend a hand
  • Please update your blogs about information about the Holiday Boutique. If you can include a link to the following page on the main website, that would be ideal: http://stevensonpirates.net/home/fundraisers/holiday-boutique/

  1. Send an email to your friends and network asking them to vote for your school. (email me and I will email you the sample email.)

Room 5 - 9/27/09 update

School is off to a fantastic start, Mrs. Diamond and all of our kids are very enthusiastic about this year. As we progress through the year we will be updating you on class room events, School events, deadlines, and things to look forward to...such as Boo Bash!

For those who don't know what Boo Bash is, or are new to Stevenson, this is an incredible family fun night event, the kids dress up in their costumes, play carnival type games, enjoy some food and treats. This year the event will be held on Friday October 30th, Room 5 is in charge of the "Goldfish" booth this year. We will need volunteers to help set up, work the booth and clean up. Anyone willing to volunteer your time please email me at conahans@sbcglobal.net, we will find a time slot that works best for your schedule, and allows you to still have fun with your kids!

I wanted to send a special thank you to those who donated items to our class room or the school this year. Everyone has been so generous, when I asked Mrs. Diamond what she needed for the classroom to help her have a successful year, her list was short to say the least. She is looking for the following items below, anyone willing to help out with these supplies is greatly appreciated.
  • desk size dry erase boards ( currently we are 3 short of everyone having the privilege of using these. ) We are asking for 5 total, there are a couple that are not in the best of shape.
  • small toys/pencils/ trinkets type things for Mrs. Diamonds prize draw. A lot of our kids have been coming home with items from the prize draw, this is an incredible motivator for our kids to continue to do their best!

Our Made in the Shade committee has kicked off the "gift card program", for those who haven't heard, the committee is working VERY hard to put shade on our playgrounds to ensure our children are safe! They are hoping to have the first of 4 structures started this summer. Do to safety issues and state regulations, the cost to put up the structures is tremendous. To help raise the funds they have set up this wonderful programs of selling gift cards for stores you shop at everyday, you purchase the cards for face value as you can at the merchant or your local grocery store, but in return the company donates a percentage back to our shade structure fund. Every other Monday an order form will be going home in your child's Monday folders, if you have any questions or need more information about the program please let me know!

Don't forget, homework packets are due back every Friday along with the Red Homework folders. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
